Sage 200 Warranties, Service & Repairs – New Functionality

As of Sage 200 2010 some new features have been added into our Sage 200 Warranties, Service & Repairs module.  The module allows you to easily track the location and repairs history of serial numbered items from within Sage 200, while managing contract renewals.
The new features are:
  • All word documents have been removed and re-written to use the new Sage Report Writer in Sage 200 2010.
  • A new analysis code system has been written into the Warranties, Service & Repairs module to allow for custom fields, which are user definable.
  • The module has been updated to work with Window 7 including Windows 7 themes.

Latest Sage Development – Sage 200 Bespoke

We have recently carried out some Sage bespoke work as request of a client.  A summary is outlined below:

  • Force invoice numbers and date combination to not be duplicated on the SL and PL Invoices.
    • We have amended Sage 200 so that upon tabbing out of the reference field on a SL/PL Invoice it will automatically check for duplication of invoice number and invoice date combinations.  If a duplicate is entered the system will warn the user to change it.  On attempting to save the SL invoice if the duplicate has not been amended Sage 200 will not permit the save to take place until the reference has been changed.
  • Sage development was carried out to provide a pop-up with a unique reference number to enter on purchase invoices, allowing the client to track them.  This was done by storing a new unique PL invoice reference number, starting at a predefined value that the user can setup in a settings screen.  The system automatically increments this number for each purchase invoice transaction and populates the reference field with this number. The user may also override this reference if they require.  In the future the client may be able to replace their manual purchase day book, with this method.
  • Customer Purchase Order number on a Sales Invoice
    • The client required the ability to make changes to the Customer Purchase Order Number on a Sales Invoice so this can be reprinted after it has been posted.  At this stage, standard Sage 200 does not allow the customer order number to be amended as the order is complete.  Development was carried out to provide a utility to update this field. This allows the sales order invoice to be re-printed which will now show the Customer Purchase Order Number on the invoice.

Latest Sage Development – Sage 200 CRM

One of our clients required some additional information to be visible in Sage 200 CRM.  As a result we made some changes to allow them to view this information.  The client also required some amendments to the company lookup functionality.  The changes are outlined below:

  • ‘Details’ entity made available on the Account entity.
    • An additional tab was on the Account entity.   This tab loads an asp page which lists the associated details to the Account entity.  The items listed are hyperlinked to the ‘Details’ summary page, allowing the user to easily access further information.
  • A ‘despatches’ button was added to the amend order screen in Sage 200 to allow Sage 200 CRM users to see despatch history for incomplete orders.  This allows users to see the despatch number, despatch date and quantity despatched for each item, improving customer service if this is queried.
  • The company summary screen was modified to filter a dropdown list based on a previous dropdown.  This was done by amending the JavaScript on the lookup.

Stock Sales or Purchase History by Supplier

Following a customer request we have made amendments to MMS331, Stock Sales or Purchase History by Supplier.  This Sage 200 addon is available as part of our Sage 200 Plus Pack.  The addon adds an enquiry screen to Sage 200 which displays sales or purchases by supplier over the past 12 month.  It is very useful to a company buyer to forecast buying requirements for the following year.

The bespoke changes we made take into account sales transactions using the transaction history table, opposed to looking at the Sage sales order table. This takes into account for example, returns, so that returned stock is not included in sold totals.

Sage Wishlist Item – Compulsory PO Number

When viewing the Sage Wishlist we noticed that we have already created Wishlist item 2130.  The addon is MMS181, Compulsory PO Number, which is available in our Sage 200 Plus Pack.  Compulsory PO Number ensures any sales order in Sage 200 must have a customer order number i.e. the customer order number box cannot be blank.

Sage CRM – Microsoft Office 2010 Compatibility

Sage CRM v7.0 Patch C is now available which includes compatibility  for Microsoft Outlook 2010.

For Sage 200 CRM users, this patch is will be included in Service Pack 1 for Sage 200 2010 which is due to be released at the end of November, although this is subject to change.

Please note, there are currently no plans to include Office 2010 compatibility for any older versions of Sage CRM such as 6.1 or 6.2 in both standalone and integrated Sage 200 versions.
