From the 31st March 2014, Line 100 will reach its end of life.
What does end of life mean for the product?
Line 100 will no longer be technically supported and users will no longer be able to add users or modules to their system.Users will still be able to use the software; however as previously communicated Sage are no longer able to provide software updates related to line 100. This means there is no guarantee that Line 100 is legislatively compliant.
Whats does this mean for you?
Line 100 users who are on version 7.0 or below will still be able to use their software, however users on version 7.1 or higher will be required to purchase an enable string on an annual basis .
Whats the next step?
We would strongly recommend upgrading your system to the Sage 200 Suite which is the natural upgrade path from Line 100. Eureka Solutions also offer a selection of other options that may be more suitable for your businesses.
If you would like more information on Line 100 end of life or would like to discuss your options further with one of our Eureka Solutions experts, please contact us on 01355 581 960.
Transfer data to and from Sage 200 to other systems
Data Exchange for Sage 200, one of our most popular addons for Sage 200, has been updated with new functionality!
Designed to transfer data to and from Sage 200, Data Exchange seamlessly links Sage 200 with 3rd party applications such as ecommerce websites, ERP solutions and CRM solutions. Working with CSV and/or XML file formats, Data Exchange automates the import and export of data such as sales orders, purchase orders and cashbooks.
New Functionality includes:
Batch Serial Numbered Items – Import/export stock with batch serial number for goods received, write off stock, add stock, stock issues, sales order and stock transfer
Field Mapping – Import field names with alias name to match those of the import file.
SQL Compact Back-end – Store data temporary before it is imported / exported.
Supports Multiple Company – Data can be imported / exported from multiple Sage 200 companies simultaneously.
Connect to multiple FTP Sites – Specify multiple FTP connections. Some imports / exports may come / be sent to one FTP site and other imports / exports to another FTP site.
Data Exchange is easy to install and use out-of-the box. However should you wish specific requirements, the product is also customisable. As it is fully automated Data Exchange ensures that information is passed between the two systems without any manual intervention. This means that data does not need to be re-entered in either system, eliminating duplication, and that changes are visible immediately.

Eureka Solutions is a Sage Business Partner and the UK’s leading Sage Developer. As well as Data Exchange for Sage 200 we also have a range of other Sage 200 addons, designed to enhance the Sage 200 system.
One of our clients currently purchases stock from a number of different countries. This requires accurate forecasting from their sales team in order to stay in control of their purchases and place orders in a timely fashion. Using forecasting forms, a fundamental base for their purchase recommendations, the sales team is able to make realistic forecasts of their sales by product, per period throughout the year.
At the start of each financial year, the sales team are required to calculate forecasts per customer, per stock item of sales they intend to make per period. This data is then used for KPI reporting, analysis of budget/actual figures and for forecasting stock requirements. Figures can then be stored against a customer record within Sage 200, with the information accessible through the report designer – allowing them to produce reports more readily.
Currently the client carries out all stock forecasting within an Excel spread sheet, which is very time consuming and can be open to errors. They required the ability to automate the process of forecasting, allowing the system to provide a suggestion of orders, whilst still allowing users to overwrite the figures and generate orders quickly from within Sage 200.
In order to meet these requirements we amended their Sage 200 system using the Sage business objects to create a system that was fully integrated to their current Sage 200 system. The Sage 200 New Customer, Amend Customer and Account Enquiry screens were amended to contain an additional tab that allowed for a user to populate the estimated future sales forecasts.CSV import routines were set up to update data within Sage 200 enabling a user to automatically create financial year, customer item code combinations and therefore estimating future sales forecasts. By creating a new menu item called ‘Stock Forecasting and Purchasing in Sage 200, users were able to present purchasing recommendations based upon their stock forecasting levels.

One of our customers were looking to move to using list less pricing and therefore needed the ability to easily adjust the “Standard Price” in the Price Book in Sage 200.
Previously the customer had to obtain the cost prices they were exporting; a custom report “Supplier Price Increases”, to Microsoft Excel but this did not contain the Standard Price for the stock items. They therefore had to manually add and delete columns in the CSV file and update the cost prices then upload it back into Sage 200.
We added a new form in Sage 200 called Update Supplier Prices which allowed the user to select a supplier account, product range and specify a location for the CSV file to be created. This exported the prices for all stock items linked to that supplier to a CSV file that was then amended in Microsoft Excel.
The columns included in the exported file were:
Supplier Account Ref
Preferred Supplier?
Stock Item Code
Stock Item Name
Product Group
Supplier Stock Item Code
Minimum Order Quantity
Last Purchase Date
Supplier List Price
Last Buying Price
Standard Selling Price
The supplier’s list price, supplier stock code and the selling price on the Standard Price list was then updated in the CSV file and manually in Microsoft Excel as required. The Update Prices form had an import button that would allow the user to browse a CSV file and import it into Sage 200 to update the supplier’s list price and/or the standard selling price of those stock items. None of the other fields in the file could be amended as part of the import.
Please note that updating the standard selling price updates this for all customers linked to the standard price and for all instances of this stock item, whether or not the items were originally ordered from that particular supplier. The supplier would already need to be linked to the stock items otherwise the import routine would fail.
