The company’s headquarters are in East Kilbride and they currently have 37 locations throughout the UK in most of the country’s major cities. Having experienced rapid growth, Goals has now expanded abroad to the United States, with a centre in Los Angeles, and this expansion is expected to continue.
With Goals Soccer’s significant growth, the company were finding it difficult to manage their business using their current business management solution, Sage 50 Accounts.
Sage 50 was running very slowly due to the number of transactions being processed in the system. The number of users on the system was also causing a problem with speed.
The company required details of financial reports within a few days of each month end and the ability to analyse data quickly. As the company grew, Sage 50 was not flexible enough to allow them to do this.
Sage 50 has limited scope for customisation and could not be integrated with Goals’ Purchase Order system. This meant that Purchase Orders had to be re-entered into Sage 50 separately, doubling the time of data entry and creating the possibility of errors.

Goals Soccer decided that, as they had reached the limits that Sage 50 offered, they needed a system which could grow with their business and improve their processes. They contacted Eureka Solutions with a view to providing them with a business management solution that could meet their business needs.
Following discussions between the two companies, Goals decided to implement Sage 200, an integrated business management solution for medium-sized businesses. Sage 200 is the ideal upgrade for companies finding that they have outgrown Sage 50.
Eureka Solutions and Sage 200 were chosen by Goals because, as well as being a local company, Eureka Solutions is the UK’s leading Sage Developer, meaning that Goals’ Sage 200 system could be customised to meet their business needs.
Data from Sage 50 was migrated to Sage 200, ensuring that nothing was lost during the upgrade. Utilising Eureka Solutions’ Sage 200 Data Exchange, Goals were able to seamlessly integrate Sage 200 with their Purchase Order system, meaning they no longer have to re-enter any Purchase Orders in Sage 200.
Sage 200 was also able to meet Goals’ needs by providing the detailed financial reports and analysis that they required.
With the opening of overseas centres, Goals need to be able to have a system which can manage foreign currency transactions. Sage 50 has limited capability in this area, whereas Sage 200 is designed to pro cess a large number of foreign currency transactions.
With 7 users in the system and a large number of transactions being processed, Sage 50 was running slowly. Upgrading to Sage 200, a system designed for a very large number of users and transactions, gives Goals a faster, more reliable system, improving efficiency. The system is also able to grow, meaning that more users can be added, if required, without affecting performance.
