Synergy Salon Supplies is a leading wholesale provider of hairdressing and beauty products. The company is based in Perth and Aberdeen and supplies products to the whole of Scotland. As well as supplying brands of hair and beauty products, the company also provides training courses.

 

Problem/Challenge

Synergy were using Sage 50 Accounts for their business management software in both their Perth and Aberdeen offices. As Sage 50 is not able to manage stock over multiple locations, Synergy were having difficulty managing their business as a whole. Reporting was difficult, with their accountants having to take both sets of data and produce key management information for them. An added issue was that neither location had any way of knowing what stock the other had.  Synergy also recognised the need for a system to help manage their customer relations, including the sales process for their reps out on the road. As a result, they contacted Eureka Solutions for advice on how best to move the company forward with their business systems.

Solution

Synergy’s Sage 50 Accounts was upgraded by Eureka Solutions to the Sage 200 Suite. Sage 200 is a business management solution which is able to manage multiple stock locations, while integrating all areas of the business. The prospect of bringing together all their data sources was a key factor in Synergy’s decision to upgrade.

Sage 200 Financials & Sage 200 Commercials is able to manage Synergy’s accounts processes and stock at both locations.  Sage 200 CRM gives management and automation of the sales process while Sage 200 BI reports on advanced trends and analysis within the business. With Sage Point of Sale, Synergy have an integrated EPOS till system for both offices.

Ultimately Synergy required a system which could integrate and manage all areas of their business from a central location - Sage 200 and Eureka Solutions were able to deliver.

 

Key Benefits

Some of the main benefits Synergy received after upgrading from Sage 50 to Sage 200 are:

  • One central system to manage the back-office, till, stock, sales and customer interactions.
  • Information is visible throughout the whole organisation. Any data changes made in the system are visible in both offices as well as for the sales reps on the road.
  • Having one system instead of two has cut data entry by half, as there is no need to re-key data.
  • The ability for each office to see stock information at the other office means that products can be sent between the two, to fulfil an order. This simplifies the supply chain and cuts out a lot of manual work, where mistakes can be made, and ultimately improves the customer experience that Synergy provides.
  • Having Sage Point of Sale integrated with the back office again reduces the need for duplication of data between back office and till.
  • With Sage 200, Synergy can now report quickly and easily on both offices without third party help from their accountants. In addition Sage 200 BI, allows advanced reporting and trend analysis on areas such as sales by office and rep, giving greater control over the business.
  • Sage 200 CRM gives the sales reps the ability to view and update data while on the road. Orders can be created at the time and are then visible throughout the whole business. This makes the order process more streamlined and efficient, and ensures nothing slips through the net.
